Geotextiles are typically made from polypropelene or polyester and available in three basic forms like woven (bags, sack etc), needle punched (felt) and heat bonded (ironed felt). Geotextile improves the soil strength and it has the ability to separate, filter , reinforce, protect or drain while used with soil. Geotextile products have a wide range of applications and are currently used in civil engineering applications like roads, railroads, embarkments, canals, airfield, reservoirs, dams and coastal engineering.
